Here at Black Combe Junior School we have been trying to think of different ways of raising money and so have come up with a few interesting ideas. Our Year 6 pupils have initially taken inspiration from recent news from the USA, and have been creating their own Faberge Easter Eggs. I'm not sure we'll raise £33 million with them, but we'll turn them into as much cash as possible at a sealed bid auction next week. We've had great fun researching and creating them!

In the pipeline is also an 'Are you smarter than a 10 year old?' quiz night, which the pupils are busy writing the questions for using the knowledge they've learned this year, and deciding on the other entertainment and refreshments for the evening. The children have lots of other ideas too that we are looking to put into practice!

After a very successful Faberge egg auction, bake sale, an Easter egg hunt and competitions of 'Guess the number of sweets in the Easter basket' and 'Guess the name of the Easter Bunny', Year 6 have made a profit of £83 so far! Well done Year 6!

Next, scheduled for Thursday April 24 at 5.30pm is our family fun quiz night — Are you smarter than a ten year old?

Wish us luck!!

That's it, we're finished! After a very successful family quiz night tonight, we have made a profit of £130.73 in total, so have turned our original £50 into a whopping £180.73! As a small junior school we feel this is a fantastic achievement and we have really enjoyed being a part of the project. Thank you to you all for giving the children in Year 6 this opportunity!
