Overview

Effective managers and leaders maximise their time and their team, one of the simplest ways to do this is to maximise the effectiveness of team meetings. This workshop provided leaders and managers with the key skills required to be an effective team facilitator and plan and deliver engaging and productive team meetings. This workshop shared a range of activities, tools and techniques to increase the effectiveness of team meetings and enhance the success of the team.
 

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this workshop, delegates were able to:

  • plan and prepare effective team meetings
  • understand the role of the facilitator and the difference it brings
  • apply learned facilitation skills, e.g. action learning sessions
  • manage resistance and conflict
  • engage and secure contribution from the team
  • use new tools and techniques that improve the productivity of team meetings and events

 
Course Content

During the workshop we considered/undertook the following issues/activities:

  • Audit of current team meetings
  • Meeting roles and responsibilities, dealing with unhelpful behaviour
  • Planning and delivering effective meeting structures
  • The role of the facilitator, engaging others in shared thinking
  • Decision making as a team, tools and techniques
  • Peer learning, using action learning to solve problems and promote action
