Often, when we talk about a need for change, we mean a change in culture. This workshop considered the role of the manager in shaping a culture. Delegates understood the impact of leadership style, considered types of organisational culture and the importance of communicating expectations, role modelling behaviours and performance managing the behaviours of others.
 

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this workshop, delegates were able to:

  • describe the relationship between leadership style and organisational culture
  • understand when to apply different leadership styles
  • discuss the role and responsibilities of a manager within the organisation
  • identify their own organisational culture and its characteristics
  • articulate the actions, behaviours and values of 'a culture change leader'

 
Course Content

During the workshop we considered/undertook the following issues/activities:

  • Overview and comparison of different business cultures and their advantages and impact on leadership
  • Assessment of own management style and impact on others
  • Impact of personal and organisational values
  • Creating a performance culture
  • Motivating your team, engaging with a new culture
  • Performance management skills and processes
