Volunteering Opportunities

Volunteering

Did you know the Centre for Leadership Performance runs a range a projects that require volunteers?

From inspiring the next generation to running workshops. We are looking for volunteers to assist our programmes.

But why should you volunteer? Below are our top 5 reasons to get involved:

1. Volunteering opportunities can help you to develop new skills. For example, managing a volunteering project is a great opportunity for you to develop communication, leadership and project planning skills as well as improving confidence overall.3

2. Volunteering benefits your health “Acts of kindness have the potential to make the world a happier place. An act of kindness can improve feelings of confidence, being in control, happiness and optimism.” 2

3. Volunteering increases employee engagement, providing the chance for your employees to give back to the community boosts employee engagement, and engaged employees are happier and more productive.  It helps to create a rewarding and positive place to work and recent statistics from the not-for-profit organisation Employee Volunteering showed that 76 per cent of volunteers said that it had a positive influence on how they felt about their employer. 3

4. Volunteering in your local or child’s school has a range of benefits from getting to know your the teachers and staff to, becoming more involved in your local community 1

5. Volunteering inspires,  “my daughter (who was lucky enough to take part yesterday in Year 4) was raving about it when she got home…all she wanted to talk about when she went to bed was what she wanted to be when she was older…  Thank you to the volunteers who gave up their time to come and share their experiences with the children and many thanks to everyone behind the scenes who organised it.”  Lindsay Walker, Parent and Teacher, Dearham School
