Networking and Buddying

Networking is a great way to make connections with people outside your immediate sphere of influence. It can be daunting to network when you’re just starting out in your career, so we have developed a unique buddying service. As well as being matched with a more experienced networker, we’ll provide Early Careers employees with useful resources to build confidence and equip them with the tools needed to develop networking skills.

Mentoring

Mentoring can help those in their Early Career to develop their confidence and learn new skills. Mentors support learning by sharing their knowledge and experience, encouraging the young person to develop their own ideas and try new things.

Skills Academy Workshops

Skills Academy Workshops are a series of bespoke sessions designed to develop confidence, communication, teamwork, leadership, resilience and other employability skills. These workshops are ideal for 16-30 year olds, those starting a new career journey, or anyone looking to develop key skills, regardless of current skill level or background.

Leadership Insights

Leadership Insights are short online events with local leaders from different backgrounds sharing their inspirational stories of leadership. These events help to provide support and advice for young people, develop their own leadership skills, and raise aspirations.

Your Voice

Your Voice events provide young people with a platform to find out about local topics that matter to them, ask their questions and share their views, ensuring their voices are represented in key issues and decisions in Cumbria.

CFL Steering Group

The Cumbria Future Leaders Steering Group is managed by CforLP on behalf of its members and partners. This diverse group of young people and youth representatives meet to share updates, shape and signpost activities and opportunities for 16-25 year olds in Cumbria.
