Liz Hodgson

Operations Manager

Born and raised in Cumbria, Liz began her career working at a local estate agency in Penrith where she acquired successful negotiating skills and gained invaluable experience in customer service.  Liz moved to West Cumbria in 2002 and following a 12 year career break to raise her two daughters she returned to work in the engineering and manufacturing sector at Workington based TSP Engineering, supporting the CEO in the role of Personal Assistant and Marketing Communications Lead for over four years.

Most recently, Liz worked for Carr’s Engineering, a division of Carr’s Group Plc, in the role of Executive Assistant where she coordinated the work of the global engineering division whilst supporting the divisional Managing Director.

Liz joined the CfLP team in April 2021 as Business Manager and has progressed into a new role as Operations Manager.  She enjoys a varied role and is passionate about stakeholder engagement and getting the job done right; she has a high level of attention to detail, integrity and a positive approach and strives to maintain an exceptional standard.

“The Centre for Leadership Performance brings to the forefront opportunities available to young people throughout their school life.  My two teenage daughters are now making their own decisions on future career paths – the CfLP team and the businesses they collaborate with are there to help and guide them to do just that.  I am absolutely thrilled and privileged to be given the opportunity to work as a part of a team that inspires young people today to be the leaders of tomorrow.”

Liz’s Leadership Top Tip

“Leadership is not about seeking compliance, it’s about seeking commitment and inspiring people to do things they never thought they could.  A good leader leads by example, they should be approachable, be willing to listen and act with integrity.  Leaders should be willing to embrace any need for change and be willing to celebrate success.”
