“I did a Dream Placement in 2022 with Actemium, which specialises in engineering and design. I found the Dream Placement scheme really helpful, not just because I gained work experience in engineering and enjoyed it, but also because the interview and application processes helped boost my confidence and other interpersonal skills. After completing my placement, I was lucky enough to be invited back over the summer, which led to being offered an apprenticeship.
Now, two years later, I am back at the selection event on the other side of the table for the interviews. It is a bit of a full circle moment, and it feels a bit strange to be here. I like to think it is a good example of why the Dream Placement scheme is so helpful for young people. I’m not the only one who found success through it, and it can lead to a future with the same company or even other companies that they meet at events like this. It is a really good scheme, and I am really happy that I did it!”
