On Monday 5th October 2022 the first of a series of Leadership Masterclasses took place themed around “Collaborative Leadership”. The Centre for Leadership Performance collaborated with University of Cumbria’s Institute of Business, Industry & Leadership who hosted the event at their Ambleside Campus the event was also supported by Cumbria Tourism.

The event explored the theme of ‘Collaborative Leadership’ through key-note speakers, interactive Learning Labs and a Q&A session and showcased multi-generational leadership from across the four areas of our business (Primary, Secondary, Early Careers and Workplace) and in doing so:
Keynote Speakers who attended the event were Emma Dixon from Carlisle Partnership (offering a stakeholder/partner perspective), Gareth McKeever from Pure Lakes (offering a supply chain perspective), Marcin Maryniak from Simon Rogan (offering an internal/team perspective).

Kate Wilson, Business Toolbox Cumbria said: “There were really interesting speakers, and plenty to think about after the event. What really hit me was the buzz in the room, the really deep conversations that were developing, the sharing of ideas between different generations and career levels, and the positive atmosphere from start to finish.”
Aaron Groggins an apprentice at Sellafield Ltd said: “The biggest lesson I have learnt today is networking with people and speaking to them and learning what their opinions are in their businesses”
Future masterclasses will cover the following leadership topics and will be run in conjunction with other key stakeholders:
To maximise the learning from each masterclass CforLP will also be running bite-size short courses on related topics as part of our Leadership Toolbox, along with an expert-led ‘deep dive’ into each of the themes. More details of these can be found here https://cforlp.org.uk/events
