We are currently starting to recruit for Dream Placement 2025 and would like to offer the opportunity to more smaller organisations and other sectors in West Cumbria to enable us to showcase the opportunities within their organisations, connecting them with their future work force to create diverse and thriving communities and help retain young people here in Cumbria.

We recognise that the funding we ask businesses to contribute to support the programme can be a barrier to engagement for smaller businesses, third sector, charities and certain sectors including arts and culture, tourism and hospitality and retail. However, these are all areas that could offer valuable placements and experiences.

We are therefore seeking additional funding to ensure places are free for charities, small and microbusinesses and sectors within West Cumbria who have also been hugely impacted by the pandemic and face, like many businesses across Cumbria, serious skills challenges, and shortages.

For Dream Placement 2023 we secured funding from Copeland Community Fund and the CLEP to support nine smaller companies and those from less well-known sectors to get involved in the programme, which really helped to showcase careers in the nuclear supply chain and beyond nuclear. This increased the variety of opportunities for the young people of Cumbria and helped to showcase more thriving and innovative businesses within West Cumbria.

Please get in touch with nicola.woolley@cforlp.org.uk or sarah.glass@cforlp.org.uk to discuss in more detail.

In 2023, Copeland Community Fund supported local charities and voluntary groups
